The State Funding Agencies, in partnership with the British Council, throughout CONFAP (Brazilian National Council of State Funding Agencies), released the list of approved proposals for Newton Fund Researcher Links Workshops 2016.
Nine proposals of research workshops were approved in six federative units: Distrito Federal, Goiás, Santa Catarina, Pernambuco, Sergipe and Minas Gerais. Each workshop will be supported by the corresponding agency from its state, with amounts from R$ 85,000 and R$ 100,000, as counterpart to the values offered by British Council.
Santa Catarina was the state with the larger number of approved proposals, and will support three workshops.
One of the nine workshops is being promoted by a partnership between researchers from Pernambuco and Sergipe, which has as subject Smart Technology for fighting Zika-Virus Epidemics. The workshop will be headed by the University of Pernambuco,
